HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH
Text by John Cameron Mitchell Music & Lyrics by Stephen Trask
"Internationally ignored song stylist” Hedwig smashes the fourth wall and rocks the house in this iconic cult classic 🎸
Hedwig, an East German rock ’n’ roll goddess, happens to be the victim of a botched sex-change operation, which has left her with an “angry inch.” Hedwig explains her story in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine, backed by a hard-rocking band called “The Angry Inch.” Through head-banging anthems and heartfelt rock ballads, Hedwig describes her life’s search for “The Origin of Love” and a reunion with her other half. It’s a rocking ride – funny, touching, and ultimately inspiring to anyone who feels life gave them an inch when they deserved a mile.
