Covid Baking Competition: The Musical

The 2020 pandemic didn't stop Conundrum from producing musicals! In house writing team Lisa Sedares and Jackie Brenneman wrote, directed, produced, and performed an original musical specifically designed for a virtual platform. Actors from Conundrum past and present played different bakers and judges in a fun, upbeat 15 minute musical.

Conundrum Cabaret: Dogfight

Conundrum continued its successful partnership with Lincoln in 2019 with a fully staged reading of Dogfight. This rarely-produced show from the team behind Dear Evan Hansen and The Greatest Showman brought a ton of new talent to Conundrum and proved that a brewery is absolutely the right venue for a musical.
October 29-November 20, 2016
Conundrum had its first fully-staged production with Funny Girl at the Colony Theater in Burbank. Conundrum partnered with Friends of the Rialto to bring Funny Girl to life for Burbank, Pasadena and Los Angeles audiences.
This production garnered rave reviews and pulled together incredibly talented performers, musicians and technical professionals to put on a professional production that reached hundreds of audience members.
Death of Jubal

The Death of Jubal was Conundrum's inaugural play and our first new work. This full-length tragicomedy by local playwright John Bolen played to a full house at Old Oak Cellars in Pasadena, and introduced a whole new group to Conundrum Theatre Company.
90th Birthday Gala
October 17, 2015
South Pasadena's historic Rialto Theatre opened for one night only on October 17th to celebrate 90 years since it's opening. Conundrum Theatre Company produced the talent portion of the evening which featured variety acts true to the theatre's vaudevillian history, including a live organist and silent film, opera, dance, musical theatre, and an original song written in the theatre's honor.

Conundrum Theatre Company's self-produced inagural cabaret night featured vocal selections from Chess. Our talented cast of twelve was met with a full house and sang and danced their way to a standing ovation!

Putting It Together

Conundrum finished out the year at Lincoln with a one-night-only production of Putting it Together, a five-person musical review full of Sondheim favorites. The Conundrum Artistic Board performed in the show and nearly sold out the brewery!

Broadway 'N Beer: Christmas Cabaret

In December 2018 Conundrum partnered with Lincoln Beer Company in Burbank to put on Broadway 'n Beer--a holiday cabaret pairing sets of songs with Lincoln's delicious beers.
This holiday performance brought together incredible voices and a packed house. The evening ended with an open mic and holiday sing-a-long.

In April, Conundrum presented a fully staged reading of Showtune at the Rialto Theatre to an enthusiastic audience of hundreds of locals--many of whom were first-time Conundrum audience members.

Bringing Back Broadway

Night on Broadway was the first time in decades that seven of Broadway's historic theatres were open to the public on the same night - more than 35,000 people came out to celebrate and be part of history!
This was not just LA history, but Conundrum history. With only a week of rehearsal and a budget of $100, we were able to put on a professional production - with no tech rehearsal! Thank you again to all who came out or supported us in spirit!!!
